  1. cleansed; purified; refined
  2. (of eyes) bright; clear; lit. purified

Built from

Etymology. vi- (apart, asunder) + √suddh (to cleanse, purify). The prefix vi- gives the sense of thorough, complete purification—seeing or making clear by separating away impurities. √suddh is cognate with Sanskrit śuddha and ultimately with English sudatory and Latin sudor (sweat), from the Indo-European root meaning to sweat or exude; the semantic shift from 'exude' to 'cleanse' appears in the notion of purifying by sweating out impurities.
